Upcoming Car BMW X1

Expected in January 2011
Estimated price: Rs 27lakh (on-road, Mumbai)

BMW X1
BMW plans to plunge the X1 in India. The X1 will be the smallest SUV from the BMW horse barn and will come with 1.8-litre petrol engine or the 2.0-litre diesel engine. The BMW X1 will be made available in Corporate and Highline trig stories.

The BMW X1 is based on the 3-series platform and will be launched in India in January 2011. The X1 will be a CKD and will be assembled in BMWs Chennai plant. The cheapest gasoline variation should cost about Rs 27lakh (on-road, Mumbai) and the top-of-the-line diesel will cost about Rs 37lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

The corporate version of the BMW X1 will miss out all the buzzers and whistles which include sunroof and CD-changer. The auto will get only a single in-dash music system. The wooden bits also go missing on the Corporate Version. The BMW X1 like the other BMWs will be a rearward steering wheel drive. So, all those who were looking out for small scale SPORT UTILITY VEHICLE with higher badge value, the BMW X1 will be ideal option.
