New target set by Honda

Two-wheeler-maker, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, is targeting a sale of 16 lakh units by end-this fiscal as against 12.7 lakh units last year, a senior company official said.

"We are doing well in both the motor-cycle and scooter segments. We target to sell 16 lakh units of two-wheelers by March 2011," Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India's Operating Head (Sales and Marketing), Naresh Kumar Rattan, told reporters on the sidelines of an event here.

"Going forward, we expect a double-digit growth in our motor-cycle and scooter segments," he said.

The company plans to export one lakh motor-cycles and scooters this year as against 75,000 units last year.

"We aim to export close to one lakh motor-cycles and scooters this year," he said, adding "as at end-November, we have exported 61,000 units."
